Privacy supplement
Ovanest Privacy
This supplement to the TenacityHQ Privacy Policy covers what is specific to Ovanest, our period, fertility and pregnancy app. Effective 3 October 2026.
What Ovanest stores, and where
Everything you log stays on your phone: periods, symptoms, moods, temperatures, ovulation tests, notes, pregnancy details, kick counts and contraction timings, and your settings. It is kept in an encrypted database whose key is held in your phone’s secure storage (Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android). There is no Ovanest account and no Ovanest server for health data, so we never receive it.
What Ovanest does not collect
We don’t collect, sell or share your health information. Ovanest has no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting service and no tracking SDKs, and doesn’t track you across other apps or websites. On Android, the advertising ID permission is removed from the app.
Backups
Your journal leaves your phone only as an encrypted backup that you choose to make:
- Backup file. You pick a passphrase and Ovanest saves an encrypted file you can keep in iCloud Drive, Google Drive or anywhere you choose.
- Automatic backup (Plus). After you log, an encrypted copy is saved in the app’s folder, which your phone’s own backup (iCloud or Google) carries. If you turn it on, the same encrypted file is also copied to your own iCloud Drive (iPhone) or to a hidden Ovanest folder in your Google Drive (Android). Ovanest asks Google only for access to that folder, never to your other files.
Every backup is encrypted on your phone with XChaCha20-Poly1305, using a key derived from your passphrase with scrypt. The passphrase never leaves your phone. We can’t read your backups, and Apple and Google can’t either. If you forget the passphrase, nobody can recover the backup, including us.
Android may also copy the app’s backup folder in its device backup, and only when it can encrypt that backup end to end. The journal database and its key are excluded from device backups.
Google sign-in (Android, optional)
If you turn on Google Drive backup, you sign in with Google on your phone so Ovanest can reach its hidden Drive folder. Your Google account details stay on your phone; we never receive them.
Purchases
Ovanest Plus is sold by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play, and the app talks only to that store. To check whether your subscription is active, Ovanest asks the store on your phone. We never see your payment details, your purchase receipt or anything from your journal, and no other company is involved.
Reminders
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent through a server. Discreet notifications are on by default, so lock-screen text never mentions periods or fertility.
Doctor reports
The PDF summary is created on your phone and shared only if you choose to share it, for example by email or a messaging app.
Deleting your data
In Ovanest, go to You › Delete all data to remove your journal from your phone. Deleting the app removes it too. Backup files you saved yourself, and copies in your iCloud Drive or Google Drive, stay until you delete them there. Your purchase history is kept by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies; we hold no copy.
Sensitive information and your rights
Cycle, sexual-activity and pregnancy information is sensitive. Because it stays on your device, you control it directly: you can view, change, export or delete it in the app at any time. For anything we hold about you, such as an email you sent us, you can ask us to access, correct or delete it under laws such as India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR or California law, by writing to privacy@ovanest.tenacityhq.com.
Age
Ovanest is intended for adults (18 and over) and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
